Here are some pictures I took of our trip to the Tyhnehead Hatchery. It was such an interesting experience. The students were able to see lots of live salmon caught straight from the river! Our lively presenter at the hatchery Checking out some male salmon in the barrels. They're waiting for the females to make it up river. Do you remember why the CDs were hanging over the salmon hatchery? A live salmon from the river!
This week in Social Studies, our project was explained to us. We were assigned an aboriginal group in Canada, to compare to the Inuit. In Music, we played the Diembe drum. In Art, we did a kind of line drawing like a heart monitor to the beat of a song playing. In a little while it will become a checkerboard. In PE, we're doing soccer, which a lot of us are happy about. We're also starting a French project where we're labelling body parts in French.
On Thursday, we went on a field trip to Tynehead Hatchery, where we saw some salmon. - C. This year I'm going to try something different with our website. Instead of posting the planner message on our opening page, I'm going to add an update about what's been happening in our class each week. A student in our class will write about what everyone's been up to, and I'll post it weekly.
Mr. Neumeyer Updated planner messages will be coming soon, as I'm still working on updating this website.
